Photography began for me in 2009, with a Canon Rebel XS that I ordered and had shipped to my base at Camp TQ, Iraq - but cameras were never the destination.
The camera was simply an excuse to look closer.
I have migrated through the years, across countries, oceans, states, cities, and marriages. Through a Canon T1i (Which I still have, and has lasted longer than my marriage), Canon EOS 60D, a Canon EOS 6D Mark II (I still have), and now I have my newest hero, the Canon M5 Mark II. Similarly, I have evolved from "Xerxes Photography (2009-2023), to Bravo6 Photography (2023-2025) , to Trenton Phoenix Media (2025+).
Over the years, that search has led through deserts and cities, dance floors and concert stages, forgotten alleyways, roadside conversations, quiet moments between strangers, and stories most people walk past without ever noticing.
Some of these images were created with intention. Others appeared unexpectedly and existed for only a fraction of a second before disappearing forever. Together they form a record of places, people, and moments that can never be repeated in exactly the same way again.
I am drawn equally to beauty and imperfection. To movement and stillness. To celebration, solitude, resilience, and the countless small intersections where human lives briefly touch before continuing on their separate paths.
I am an author, and a poet by nature, so it is only fitting that I capture visual poetry with my lens.
Whether documenting an event, creating a portrait, wandering city streets after midnight, or sitting across from someone for a "Conversations Along the Way" interview, the goal remains unchanged:
To preserve something real.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Something honest.
Every photograph on this page represents a moment that existed once, and only once. My role is simply to bear witness before it disappears.
